FAQ: General Cruise Travel
Should I purchase travel insurance?
We highly recommend that you do. When you're on a trip, chances are very good that you're out of your medical insurance network. The cost to be air-lifted home can cost up to $40,000 or more. Travel insurance also covers lost baggage, trip cancellation, cancellation of your cruise due to the death of a family member and cancellation of your cruise due to inclement weather. We have a wonderful insurance carrier we deal with that even covers pre-existing conditions if purchased when you make your deposit (with the exception of terminal illnesses). They also offer a policy that allows you to cancel for any reason and receive reimbursement for most of your cruise. Call or email us and we'll be happy to help you with any questions you may have.

What is the accessibility for guests with disabilities?
Staterooms modified for guests with disabilities are available on most cruise ships. If you require assistance during travel, we require that you bring a traveling companion to assist you.
NOTE: Wheelchair and motorized scooter rentals are available. Please call our office at 888.470 1879 to request this service.

Do I need a passport?
Although a passport is not technically required for 'closed loop' cruises, we strongly recommend you travel with a passport (which must be valid for at least six months beyond the completion of travel). Depending on the country and location of ports on your cruise, you may be required to present a passport when embarking and disembarking. Also, having a U.S. passport will enable you to fly from the U.S. to a foreign port in the event you miss your scheduled embarkation or to fly back to the U.S. if you need to disembark the ship mid-cruise due to an emergency. All non- citizens of the U.S. must have passports, visas and other documentation normally required for entry into the country of destination. It is important that you contact the consulate of your citizenship regarding the required documents for the cruise.

When should I arrive at the airport?
Please plan to arrive in the airport at least 3 hours before take-off for international flights, and at least 2 hours before domestic flights. Also, never book your return flight to leave before noon on the day you disembark.
